Wildlife artist inspired by Bakers Mill Suffolk Wildlife artist, Peter Partington, is drawing inspiration from the beautiful Bakers Mill development by Barratt Eastern Counties, set on the banks of the River Stour near Sudbury. An exhibition by The Wildlife Art Gallery, Lavenham, including Peter’s watercolours and oils will be held at the marketing suite on Saturday 20th June from 12 noon to 4 pm.

Visitors will have the chance to meet the artist, who will be painting the views from Bakers Mill on the day, as well as view the stylish showhomes and enjoy a picnic lunch whilst soaking up the stunning riverside scenery.

Bakers Mill is such a picturesque development it has been proving to be very popular with homebuyers in recent weeks.

Rebecca Littler, sales and marketing director of Barratt Eastern Counties, said: “This is a truly outstanding development and it is only by visiting that people can appreciate the quality of the homes and the very beautiful setting. With the art exhibition on Saturday 20th June, this is an excellent time to come to Bakers Mill. Peter Partington is a fantastic local artist, who really captures the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside in his work.”

Peter Partington follows in famous footsteps as Bakers Mill is set in Constable Country, the enchanting part of East Anglia famed for being the birthplace of 19th Century artist John Constable, renowned for his landscape paintings of the English countryside.

Set on the banks of the River Stour, Bakers Mill is a picture-postcard riverside development that has won a string of awards. The development is surrounded by vast swathes of beautiful countryside and the meadows and river are teeming with wildlife.

There’s an extensive network of foot and cycle paths around Bakers Mill and all the homes come with a free fishing licence for making the most of the river. The original 19th century mill on the site has been carefully refurbished, adding great character to the development and beautifully blending the old with the new.

Although Bakers Mill enjoys a particularly quiet and peaceful location, it is still very accessible. There are good road links to Colchester and Braintree and Sudbury station is only five minutes away with regular services into London Liverpool Street, taking about 75 minutes.

Barratt has a wide choice of flexible incentives that can be tailored to suit homebuyers’ circumstances. For example, Barratt is currently offering Head Start, which allows homebuyers to buy a new home for just 80 per cent of the purchase price with a five per cent deposit on selected properties. Barratt pays the remaining 15 per cent, which can be paid back with no rent or interest to pay for up to ten years.

To make it easy for people with an existing home to sell, Barratt is offering its Part Exchange service, which can save time, worry and the expense of estate agent fees and HIP packs.

Prices start from £249,950 for a three-bedroom home and £289,950 for a four-bedroom home. For more information, and to view the showhomes, please contact the Marketing Suite at Bakers Mill, 3 Dove House Meadow, Great Cornard, Sudbury, Suffolk CO10 0FJ on 01787 377539, open daily from 10 am to 6 pm, or visit barratthomes.co.uk.
