Couple choose moving over improving in Newmarket

Couple choose moving over improving in Newmarket When David and Sinnika Wood decided they wanted to gain more living space, they had the option of either extending and modernising their existing home or moving to a new one.

As soon as they visited Duchess Park, David Wilson Eastern’s development in Newmarket, Suffolk they knew they wanted to move.

David says: “We first visited the development in January and we were quickly impressed by the quality of the build and the site layout. We couldn’t find the same high standards that were on offer at Duchess Park in any other new homes in the area, so by March we made an offer.”

Sinnika continues: “We were able to buy our new five-bedroom home, which was on the market for £600,000, thanks to Part Exchange. David Wilson bought our three-bedroom bungalow on the outskirts of Cambridge, which we have lived in for the past 15 years. They also paid our stamp duty and moving costs as well as helping us out with our legal expenses, which meant we were then in a position to upgrade to a new home at Duchess Park.”

Through Part Exchange David Wilson buys the purchaser’s existing home, enabling the purchaser to buy a new David Wilson home. This takes away the worry of being in a chain and with no estate agency fees to pay, or HIP to prepare, it can save a substantial amount of money too.

With Part Exchange, David Wilson Homes is also offering a free home removal service - which includes packing up all your belongings, transporting them and then unpacking them all on arrival.

David adds: “The idea of moving, almost painlessly, into a new, energy efficient house and not having to do any work to it at all was extremely appealing!

“It’s fantastic having all the extra space – the extra bedrooms are ideal for guests,” said David, “Sinnika is Swedish, so it’ll be great for friends and family to come and stay – we’re looking forward to a fair stream of visitors!

“Sinnika has chosen one room as a study. She recently completed a diploma in the History of Art at Cambridge University, so it’s ideal to have a dedicated room where she can carry on with her studies. I also plan to fulfil a lifelong dream by building a model railway in one of the spare rooms.”

“We love the house and its surroundings and the beauty of the landscape. It’s less crowded than Cambridge, but Newmarket has a lively character and its own fascinating history.” says Sinnika.

The appeal of Duchess Park lies in a combination of factors: a fabulous location amidst Newmarket’s elite racing environs, very high specification homes in a wonderfully spacious and private setting, combined with excellent and convenient access to major towns and cities.

Situated in 26 acres of secluded parkland, these exclusive four and five-bedroom family homes are located off Duchess Drive, a long established residential road that is widely regarded as one of the best in the area. Despite this rural tranquillity, Duchess Park is just a five-minute drive from Newmarket town centre while commuters can reach London’s King’s Cross in an hour and fifteen minutes.

Prices at Duchess Park currently start from £629,995 for a five-bedroom home. For further information on the development, visit duchesspark.co.uk.
