Everyone's on the move at The Clock Tower

Clive loves his home so much that if the showhome staff are busy he welcomes potential new residents and shows them what there is to see.
“I love it here because the parkland surroundings give The Clock Tower a real country feel even though it’s in the city,” he explained.
“Looking out of the window, it’s beautiful already and will be really superb when everything has matured in another 18 months.”
Clive, a vice president of Old Richians Rugby Club for which he played for 17 seasons, moved into his apartment with his 20-year-old student son Carl – his other children are older and have already flown the nest.
And busy flying their nest, too, are the sales staff from developer Bach Homes who are leaving their first showhome in a new-build wing to the left of the Victorian Clock Tower and taking up residence in the restored building itself. They are revealing the new showhome on the weekend of June 2 and 3.
“When we first set up the showhome, The Clock Tower building was still in the last stages of restoration,” explained sales negotiator Andrea Watt.
“The original showhome has now been sold – the development is already more than half sold out as 13 of the 24 apartments have been snapped up – and we thought it was an ideal opportunity to move into The Clock Tower and show people just what we have achieved breathing new life into the building.
“Features like the high ceilings give it the real feel of an elegant age gone by, although the homes themselves are very 21st Century in the way they are equipped and finished.
“Bach Homes has put a great deal of effort into restoring the building, and it shows. People always remark on how striking it looks and I’ve yet to meet anyone who has not been impressed by what’s been achieved.
“A devastating fire nearly brought about the building’s end in the 90s but the team from Bach has ensured it now looks its best again. And the new clock tower, with its clock face designed by local girl Charlotte Frasca, is the scheme’s crowning glory.”
