Savills advises on historic regeneration project

15th May 2008 Print
Property advisor Savills has been chosen to offer expert advice on the multi-million pound regeneration of one of the oldest parts of Gloucester. The South West of England Regional Development Agency has appointed Savills to advise it on plans being drawn up for the redevelopment of the Clutch Clinic and surrounding buildings next to the historic Blackfriars Priory.

Consultation is currently being carried out on a masterplan for the redevelopment, which has been drawn up by architects at Feilden Clegg Bradley and is being overseen by the South West RDA and Gloucester Heritage Urban Regeneration Company

Savills is offering expert advice on the financial feasibility of those proposals, which include the potential creation of a new University of Gloucestershire campus, and how they might be marketed to developers

Andrew Keay from Savills’ Bristol office said: “This is a fascinating project which will make an important contribution to Gloucester’s future and we are pleased to be part of it.

“Our advice will inform the South West RDA’s choice of uses for this historic area to make sure it remains attractive and successful for years to come.”

Plans are also being drawn up for the nearby Fleece Hotel complex and Savills will be advising on them too in due course.
