Tewkesbury couple are no fools

The Jeffords who married on April Fools' Day in 1967, moved to the town from Devon after exploring a number of Gloucestershire properties. In the end they opted for Miller Homes' Meadows development in Tewkesbury after being informed about the safety of the site and minimal risk of flooding.
The developer, named National Housebuilder of the Year for the second consecutive year received official data from the Environment Agency to prove its Meadows scheme, located on Bredon Road, is built on land considered to have the lowest risk of flooding by the Government agency.
Iris said: "We had several criteria when deciding to move but most importantly we wanted to be close to our two children and six grandchildren. However, we also wanted to be within walking distance of a pleasant town centre and have good commuter links, making it easy for friends and family to visit. We also decided we were quite keen on having a fairly new home after reading the benefits of saving on household bills because of better build quality, insulation and more efficient appliances.
"We looked at several homes including other new housing developments but were overwhelmed with the standard of Miller's properties. Our son in law actually recommended the site before a brick was even laid and once it was built we certainly weren't disappointed. Our property was even ready ahead of schedule."
When asked about the Tewkesbury floods last summer, Keith explained: It was awful what happened last year, but we kept tabs on the site and it never seemed at risk. We had the statistical proof to suggest our home would be fine and we had the reassurance from the Miller staff. We were never worried and are now just enjoying our lovely new home."
The Meadows boasts 102 properties in all, with a range of three, four and five bedroom detached and semi detached homes available in the current release.
The close proximity to Tewkesbury town centre and quality schools means the development is ideal for families and downsizers alike. The Meadows also benefits from fast, easy access to the M5, M50 and A38, making it a convenient commuter base for Worcester, Cheltenham and Gloucester. There is also a bus link between Tewkesbury and the local train station at Ashchurch, less than two miles away.
There is currently a range of three bedroom homes available from £234,950 as well as four bedroom homes with prices from £289,950. Five bedroom properties start from £369,950.
