New development comes to life in Gloucester

New development comes to life in Gloucester Those looking to move home to the prestigious area of Barnwood in Gloucester will be pleased to find that homebuilder Charles Church has launched its latest development in the city’s most sought-after district.

Barnwood Drive comprises an attractive range of one through to five bedroom homes, which have all been sympathetically designed to blend in with surrounding properties and have also been carefully chosen to suit a wide variety of differing househunters needs and budgets.

Alison Reading, sales director for Charles Church, states: “Before we even launched Barnwood Drive the site received a great deal of interest from a number of different purchaser groups, due to the choice of homes available, the development’s wonderful kerb appeal and its fantastic location, which is just a stone’s throw from Gloucester’s historic centre. And now that we’ve launched the site I’m expecting this interest to surge once more.”

Barnwood Drive certainly has something for everyone, whether they’re looking for a traditional two storey or contemporary three storey property. Prices for the current release of homes start from £199,995 for a three/four bedroom home and with Charles Church’s commitment to the Government-led HomeBuy Direct 70 per cent shared equity scheme, purchasers could pay as little as £139,996 for the same housetype.

Under the initiative househunters will only be required to raise funding for 70 per cent of the purchase price including a mortgage plus any deposit. The remaining 30 per cent is made up by an equity loan which is co-funded by the Government and Charles Church.

The development is situated on the outskirts of Gloucester’s thriving city centre. Barnwood Drive’s residents will be able to take advantage of being situated close to local and high street shops, restaurants, cafés and entertainment venues. Gloucester boasts a number of highly regarded schools for all ages and the city also hosts Gloucester University for those with older children.

Gloucester is excellently located for those looking to commute as the M5 and the A40 are in proximity. Those looking to use the rail network can take advantage of the city’s superb services, which mean that Birmingham is merely an hour away and London’s Paddington station is achievable in under two hours.
