Interest mounts for HomeBuy Direct

30th April 2009 Print
Interest mounts for HomeBuy Direct Interest has been so high in Barratt’s new government-back HomeBuy Direct scheme and part exchange options that it is holding a special event at its Equinox development in Cheltenham for potential buyers to learn more.

Sales director Louise Ware said that Barratt in the region has seen strong sales in the last few months – and offering schemes to help buyers has been key to this increased confidence.

“We have a number of initiatives available so on May 9/10 we are throwing open the doors for prospective buyers to learn more about HomeBuy Direct and our own part exchange scheme,’’ she said.

Under HomeBuy Direct, buyers can move into a new home for just 70 per cent of the price with Barratt and the government offering a 30 per cent equity loan.

Barratt sales director Louise Ware said that interest in the scheme had exceeded all expectations and the first sales at Equinox have already completed.

Available to first time buyers and families, HomeBuy Direct is government-backed and aimed at helping those who would not otherwise own their own home.

Buyers only have to secure financing for 70 per cent of the purchase price and no deposit is required. Barratt matches the government’s funding to provide the 30 per cent equity loan.

And for those looking to move up the housing ladder, Barratt is offering its part exchange scheme.

“We know that people who want to move to a larger house may be put off by what they hear about the credit crunch and difficulties in finding a buyer,” said Louise.

“Our part exchange scheme is specially designed to help you buy the home you want and to make your move as stress free as possible. It removes all the uncertainty because Barratt is a guaranteed cash buyer - so there is no chain, no last-minute price haggling and no hidden costs.’’

Equinox lies just 1.5 miles from Junction 11 of the M5 and there are regular services from Cheltenham train station to Swindon, Bristol and London.

Cheltenham has a wealth of shops, theatres, museums, cafes and wine-bars, as well as one of the liveliest music, literary and dance scenes in the south west. The annual Cheltenham Festival is a must for horse racing enthusiasts.
