Eastington site manager wins coveted national award

Dave, who is currently site manager at Crest Nicholson’s development in Eastington and is overseeing the build of 37 properties on the site, has been hand-picked to receive this award from more than 18,000 contenders across the UK. To win, they were assessed across 38 aspects of site management, including technical knowledge, consistency in the build process as well as leadership and organisational skills. This is the 6th time Dave has received this award since 2002 and in 2007 he progressed to the next stage of the competition and received the Seal of Excellence.
Now in its 29th year, NHBC's ‘Pride in the Job’ is the only national competition to focus on the contribution the site manager makes in producing high quality new homes. Altogether 400 Quality Award winners were selected as first round winners, Dave now goes through to the next heat to try for a ‘Seal of Excellence’ Award in the Autumn where there will be only 130 lucky winners. The ‘Pride in the Job’ campaign reaches its climax with the announcement of the four overall UK Supreme Award winners at a Gala Awards ceremony in January 2010.
Dave said: “I am very pleased to have been awarded the Quality award in recognition of my work to ensure that the Eastington site is well-run and a great example of a Crest Nicholson development.
“I thoroughly enjoy working in the construction industry and seeing the build process through from start to finish. This recognition makes my time with Crest Nicholson even more worthwhile and enjoyable.”
David Huggett, Managing Director of Crest Nicholson (South West) Ltd. commented on the award win: “We are thrilled that Dave has won the Quality Award; it demonstrates the commitment he and his team have to delivering extremely high standards, both on site and in the homes we build.
“Three Crest Nicholson South West site managers have received the Quality Award this year. We are very proud of their achievements and wish them the best of luck in the next stages.”
