Rugby stars kick off sale of new homes

28th September 2007 Print
Visitors to the launch of a brand new housing development in Pontardulais will be given a sporting treat with the chance to meet players from the Celtic Crusaders Rugby League team.

Award-winning house builder Redrow’s Cae Rebeca development will go on sale on October 13 and home hunters will get the chance to look for their dream property and meet their favourite rugby stars at a special open day.

The Bridgend-based national team, which has set its sight on Super League status, is sponsored by Redrow and they will be joined by a brass band for the launch event at Peter Alan estate agents, 14, West Street, Gorseinon, telephone 01792 894422, between 9am and 5pm.

The venture of 93 new homes has been given a historical name as a reminder of rioters who helped bring an end to political, social and economic injustice in the 19th century.

The entrance to award winning Redrow’s scheme on Bolgoed Road lies about a hundred yards from a commemorative monument opposite the Fountain Inn, dedicated to a group known as ‘Rebeca’ who destroyed the controversial Bolgoed toll-gate in 1843.

The toll-gates are long gone and Pontardulais is now a welcoming place for home owners. Local amenities are plentiful, including schools, shops and banks; it’s just eight miles from Swansea and within a short drive of the beautiful scenery of the Gower coastline.

Redrow’s development will offer great opportunities for families, young professionals and downsizers, thanks to its mix of one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four and five-bedroom houses.

Rachael Davies, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales), says: “Cae Rebeca will feature an excellent choice of our quality-built homes, close to all of the local amenities of Pontardulais and also within easy reach of Swansea and Llanelli. There’s also good access to the M4 for travel to Cardiff.”

As part of its development, Redrow will be making financial contributions to local education and providing 10% affordable housing.

Would-be home owners can register their interest in attending the launch event, which includes a champagne reception, by logging on to Redrow.co.uk/developments/view/191.
