iPad is dream retreat for Swansea City fans

iPad is dream retreat for Swansea City fans The iPad apartments at Barratt’s Copper Quarter development in Swansea are proving to be a hit with older as well as younger buyers. In fact, a retired couple who still live in the West Midlands bought one to be near their beloved football team – Swansea City Football Club.

Dr John Dews (60) and wife Sue (57) from Dudley near Birmingham saw a Barratt advertisement for the iPads last summer, during a Swansea City game in the Liberty Stadium. They decided to visit Copper Quarter and ended up buying an iPad with a view of the stadium from the balcony.

“I’ve supported Swansea City since 1965, when I was a student at Swansea University, and I visit the area regularly with my family to see the football and to spend time at the nearby Gowser Peninsula,” Dr Dews explained.

“My wife and I were both teachers but we retired last year and, although we had a fixed caravan on a site at the peninsula, we wanted to replace it with an all-season retreat. The one-bedroom iPad offered the ideal solution – we currently only use it for weekends and breaks but we may move there permanently in the future.”

“The iPad is very homely and secure and it’s in a nice position, overlooking the river and within walking distance of the station,” Dr Dews continued. “Swansea has undergone quite a transformation in the last decade - there are a lot of new developments in the city but I certainly think the Barratt site is one of the best.

“We bought off-plan in the summer and got the keys to the apartment in December. I have to say that I’m very impressed with the Barratt sales team. It’s not easy buying a property when you live miles away, but the sales negotiators kept us fully informed of progress and the Customer Services representative has been extremely helpful.”

The fourth block of iPad apartments has just been released at Copper Quarter and prices start from £118,995 for a one-bedroom home and from £166,995 for a two-bedroom property. All apartments come with a balcony and parking space.

These innovative homes are particularly popular with young professionals and current offers include Barratt’s Dream Start deal, whereby first-time buyers only need to pay 75 per cent of the full asking price. The offer works by arranging mortgage finance on the 75 per cent while the other 25 per cent is covered by Barratt and repayable interest free, either within 10 years or on the resale of the property.
