Building Excellence nomination for Aurora in Swansea Point

24th November 2008 Print
Building Excellence nomination for Aurora in Swansea Point Charles Church Wales is proud to announce the nomination of one of its premier developments, Aurora in Swansea Point, for a Local Authority Building Control ‘Building Excellence' Award. The awards form part of a national initiative that enables Local Authorities to reward good building practice and Aurora has been nominated in the category of ‘New dwellings over ten units'.

The awards ceremony, at which the final judgment will be revealed, is due to take place on the 16th January at Liberty Stadium in Swansea and it's fair to say that Aurora would be more than a deserving winner.

This impressive Charles Church development offers purchasers a selection of sumptuous one and two bedroom apartments overlooking the River Tawe, each featuring the highest quality specification and finish. Each kitchen, designed by Paula Rosa, features a stainless steel single oven, complete with hob and chimney hood, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.

Bathrooms are fitted with white sanitaryware with complementary chrome plated taps and a chrome towel rail. A crisp, neutral finish has been achieved throughout each apartment by the employment of decorative aspects including flat white ceilings, white interior walls and light oak veneer internal doors. Carpeted throughout, each apartment benefits from the real comfort of electric underfloor heating.

The winners of each category of the Building Excellence Awards are then entered into the Regional Awards where they will be in competition with the winners of 12 other Authorities within the South Wales region. In addition to the inspiring specification, Aurora has been nominated due to the sustainable features used during the construction process, including timber composite windows and Insulated Weatherby Render systems to help retain heat.

Furthermore, the development has been highlighted due to its focus on the needs of residents; Aurora has been built with security in mind, and as such features an audio and video phone entry system, and an under-croft has been provided with designated parking spaces for 26 cars and bicycles with secure entry.

The city of Swansea offers residents the best of all worlds; the stimulations of a major city, yet within easy reach of contrasting natural landscapes perfect for walking, horse riding and cycling. Residents can indulge in retail therapy at one of many high street stores, independent specialist shops, or perhaps at the largest indoor market in Wales. Nightlife is available in abundance in Swansea, incorporating numerous pubs, clubs and restaurants to cater for all tastes. Those inspired by cultural pursuits will revel in the many theatres, concert halls, cinemas and museums, as well as The Dylan Thomas Centre, celebrating the life of the famous Welsh poet.

Prices at Aurora start from £116,250 using the FairShare shared equity scheme.
