Kids add a splash of colour to Redrow homes

Kids add a splash of colour to Redrow homes In keeping with its ethos of investing in the communities in which it builds, Redrow Homes has given a double boost to a primary school in Pontarddulais.

The award winning housebuilder – currently building at Cae Rebeca, off Bolgoed Road - ran a competition for the children at nearby Pontarddulais Primary School, which required them to paint or draw a picture with the theme ‘I love my home’.

And after some fantastic entries it was eight year-old Edward Dulake and Amy Williams, six, who each added the £20 prize to their piggy banks. Also impressing with their pictures were runners up Teigan Price, eight, Courtney Davies, six and Melody Bainbridge-Todd, six, who each received £10.

The prizes were presented to the children by Redrow sales advisor Donna Cook during a special assembly, along with a cheque which was presented to head teacher Jonathan Mead and will contribute towards the printing of the school’s early years brochure, used to promote the school.

Mr Mead said: “This was a great competition, enabling the children to assert and develop a range of skills including problem solving, design and communication, while having a great time.

“The children worked really hard on their art work and were delighted with their prizes. The winning entries have all been framed and will be on show at Redrow’s Cae Rebeca development, which is also nice for the children.”

He added: “It is truly fantastic to work with and get support from local companies like Redrow. It makes life much easier for schools and adds to the community spirit. Hopefully this will be the start of a longstanding relationship with the company.”

Rachael Davies, sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales), said: “More than just a housebuilder, Redrow always looks to support the communities in the areas in which we build. The painting competition was a real success and the artwork was lovely –it will add a new splash of colour and have pride of place at our Cae Rebeca development.

“We chose the ‘I love my home’ theme for the painting competition to complement recent promotional activity in support of our new interior specification, which is featured in the show homes at Cae Rebecca.”

Current availability at Cae Rebecca, where, through easi-buy, a newly designed contemporary Redrow home can be bought for just 75% of the usual cost, with the remainder deferred for up to 10 years as an interest-free loan, includes three and four bedroom properties priced from £155,500 to £232,995.

Rachael adds: “This is an unbeatable offer, which effectively enables the buyer to obtain a mortgage to cover 100% of their initial outlay. But because they are only financing 75% of the purchase price they should get a much better choice of good value mortgage deals. We can even help them to arrange this by accessing our network of financial advisers.

“Not only will the customer legally own 100% of the property from the outset, they won’t have to pay any rent on the deferred element and they’ll have up to 10 years, or until they resell the property, to pay back the outstanding amount – interest free.

“Quite simply, it’s an efficient and easy way to enjoy the luxury of owning one of our sought-after new look new homes.”
