Energy efficient homes launched in Carnbroe and Taynuilt Edinburgh-based Blue Property has released two new developments; Blue Sky at Carnbroe in Coatbridge, Glasgow and Blue Sky at Taynuilt in Argyll – its first developments to meet the energy efficient BLUEHAUS standard.

Committed to green building techniques and state of the art technology, the developer has created a collection of modern and innovative homes designed to deliver exceptional levels of energy efficiency without compromising on comfort and style.

Because most units at the development outperform industry set energy efficiency standards, the developer has initiated ‘BLUEHAUS’ standards which brings a new criteria of energy efficiency to the residential housing market in the UK.

BLUEHAUS is based on the principles of the German ‘Passivhaus’ standard, a building code that pays particular attention to insulation, air tightness, solar gain and heat recovery.

Blue Sky at Carnbroe

Blue Sky at Carnbroe comprises 21 properties, including three and four bedroom detached homes and three bedroom semi-detached and terraced house types.

Careful consideration has been given to 21st century family eco-living in the design of this intimate and exclusive development.

Marrying classic and modern elements, the exterior combines wood panelling, crisp white walls and black slate roofing blended with solar panelling. Designed on two levels, inside the homes enjoy spacious fully fitted kitchens and open plan living areas, combined with well-sized bedrooms and bespoke bathrooms.

Coatbridge is situated in an ideal location, lying 11 miles west of Glasgow with easy access to the main central belt commuting routes.

Prices at Blue Sky at Carnbroe start from £149,995.

Blue Sky at Taynuilt

Blue Sky at Taynuilt is a collection of five spacious four bedroom properties. This semi-rural development provides high quality family properties within the heart of the picturesque west coast village of Taynuilt.

Offering the very best in flexible living, the lower ground floors feature open plan kitchen and family rooms and separate utility areas. Two of the four bedrooms can also be easily converted into a study or TV room to suit the individual needs of the family.

Situated near Oban, Taynuilt offers a secluded location enjoying access to beautiful beaches and open countryside whilst also offering excellent transport links via the A85 and rail services.

Prices at Blue Sky at Taynuilt start from £249,995.

Energy efficiency = great value

Buyers at the Blue Sky developments will benefit from up to 70% off the costs of heating bills delivering an overall saving of up to £1500 per annum on energy bills, meaning that these homes really represent excellent value for money. Furthermore purchasers of each home will be eligible to receive a grant from the Energy Saving Trust of up to £4000 due to the improved energy efficiency of the homes.

Buyers at the development can also qualify for a 1% mortgage discount available from the Ecology Building Society.

Gary Goldsack, Director, Blue Property Ltd commented: “The properties at both of our Blue Sky developments are ideally suited to families, and will also appeal to homebuyers wanting to reduce their carbon footprint whilst still enjoying the benefits of a comfortable, modern lifestyle.

“We firmly believe that it is the responsibility of both housebuilders and homebuyers to recognise that reducing our carbon footprint is essential to securing a sustainable and secure future for the generations to come.”
