Upgrade you home with new for old

17th July 2009 Print
Upgrade you home with new for old Swapping your existing property for a new home is a quick, stress-free and appealing solution, especially when it’s taking vendors up to five months to find a buyer for themselves.

Latest figures from Home.co.uk show that the average length of time taken to sell a house in Anniesland, Glasgow is now almost 20 weeks, so the chance to swap new for old using part-exchange is a huge benefit.

The service can see them receiving an offer from Redrow for their existing property within 48 hours so they can move virtually straight away.

Award-winning Redrow offers part-exchange on selected homes at Route 1 West, in Anniesland, effectively acting as a cash buyer for the customer’s existing property, subject to criteria. It takes the problem of finding a buyer or being stuck in a housing chain out of the customer’s hands and paves the way towards that longed-for new home.

Diana Newton, sales director for Redrow Homes (Scotland) said: “Part-exchange is perfect for people who want to move right away, but are being held back by their current house.

“It works in four simple steps. The customer reserves their new home and a valuation is carried out by a local estate agent. Redrow then makes them an offer and becomes their cash buyer. When their new home is ready they pack their bags and move in. It really is as simple as that.

“They will also enjoy all the other benefits that come with owning a new home such as improved energy efficiency and potentially cheaper running costs, no costly renovations or upkeep and no living with a previous owner’s decorating disasters.”

Being able to part-exchange gives developers like Redrow a big advantage over the second hand sector in the current economic climate. Redrow can also provide access to a network of financial and legal advisers to help customers find the best mortgage for their circumstances and to ensure the move goes smoothly.

Properties currently available at Route 1 West include three-bedroom townhouses from £239,995 for a mid-terrace with study and from £249,995 for an end-terrace with integral garage. Both styles have an open plan kitchen / dining area with doors to the garden, lounge and master bedroom with en-suite on the first floor and two further bedrooms and a bathroom above.

Their size and layout makes them suitable for families, friends sharing and also empty nesters who want a modern, more manageable home without compromising on space.

Route 1 West is ideally placed close to the lively atmosphere of Glasgow’s West End. It is situated just off the A82 Great Western Road, which leads to Glasgow city centre and the M8 in one direction and to Loch Lomond in the other. The area is well served by public transport and trains from Anniesland station take less than 15 minutes to Glasgow Queen Street.
