Austrian sees big uptake in use of electronic tickets

Electronic ticketing is now available on over 65% of all Austrian routes and is now used by almost 60% of all passengers. To date Austrian’s global network includes 85 destinations where ‘paper-free’ flying is an option.

The number of routes is being aggressively expanded with the recent introduction of Odessa and Kharkov in the Ukraine.

Electronic ticketing offers many advantages to the traveller including financial due to the lower issue costs in comparison with traditional paper ticketing.

Growth of electronic ticketing extends to Star Alliance partners to offer passengers greater flexibility and savings.
