Austrian takes off for Astana

Kazakhstan is one of the most resource rich countries in the world, a thriving region within Central Asia offering sustainable growth potential. Oil, natural gas and uranium deposits form the backbone of the booming Kazakh economy.

Astana replaced Almaty as capital in 1997 and is now home to a population of approx. 600,000. Since becoming capital Astana has been the site of one of the world’s greatest building projects with ambitions to be one of the most important cities in all of Central Asia.

Austrian’s new three times weekly service starts 4 September 2007.

The flights will be operated with a Boeing 737-700 in co-operation with Air Astana.
