Football fansite for Euro 2008 goes live

Austrian Airlines has launched an English language version of its Euro 2008 fan website, fanline08.at to support the biggest sporting event to be held in Austria for many years.

The site is for football fans throughout Europe where they can discover everything they need to know about Austria: the venues, the ‘fan mile’, the host cities and public viewing areas. There are useful tips on how to travel to the match locations and how to find accommodation.

There is a ‘fun corner’ section with offbeat, entertaining information about “the beautiful game” and the site will be continuously updated with comment, reader blogs, videos, photos, insider tips and competitions. Among the prizes to be won are Austrian Business Class tickets to European cities, flat screen Tvs and much more.

Just before the grand opening of the tournament, this “virtual world” will be extended to include attractions and stage shows at an Austrian Airlines stand on the Rathausplatz fan mile in Vienna. As a partner of the City of Vienna, Austrian will present a programme of colourful and topical shows for young and old alike from 7 to 29 Jun 2008. This will ensure the entertainment continues around the clock – even on days when no matches are being played.

Highlights of the show will include guest appearances by Christina Stürmer (Austrian pop/rock singer), excerpts from the hit Queen musical We Will Rock You and a host of exciting surprises in the Austrian Airlines fan area itself.
