Austrian delivers direct to the slopes

5th November 2008 Print
In time for Christmas and the prime ski season Austrian is launching a ‘Skibus’ service that will take passengers from Innsbruck directly to the slopes of the top Alpine resorts. Between 27 November 2008 and 19 April 2009 the Austrian ‘Skibus’ will connect with Austrian flights to Innsbruck to offer passengers a seamless service to the resorts of St. Anton, Ischgl and Soelden.

‘Skibus’ services to all three resorts will operate twice daily, Thursday to Sunday, in both directions.

The ‘Skibus’ service is scheduled to take approximately one and a half hours from Innsbruck to each of the three resorts and is timed to connect with Austrian’s flights, including perfect connections from London. From plane to bus there is a minimum connection time of 25 minutes whilst from bus to plane the connection time is one hour.

Passengers can book the connecting bus service online at austrian.com. A complete through fare will be quoted; normal child and infant discounts will be applied across the entire journey. ‘Skibus’ tickets cannot be sold separately and cannot be booked once in transit, bus seats are not sold on the aircraft.

Passengers using the ‘Skibus’ service will normally be transferred to the main Tourist Office in the resort but direct transportation to hotels can be accommodated. Passengers have to confirm this directly with the ‘Skibus’ operator at info@oetztalerbus.at; transfers within 2km of the tourist office are free of additional charge, for longer distances passengers will be advised to pay an additional fee directly to the driver.

Although not sold separately the transfer fares are priced as follows:

Innsbruck – St. Anton: €75, per adult, one-way
Innsbruck – Ischgl: €88, per adult, one-way
Innsbruck – Soelden: €63, per adult, one-way

For the most complete service to the slopes this winter book and fly with Austrian.
