Austrian ranked amongst most reliable airlines

The Austrian Airlines Group once again achieved exceptional figures in its punctuality and flight reliability in 2008: compared to all AEA (Association of European Airlines) member airlines, the ‘red-white-red’ carrier took leading placings in all segments, and was judged to have performed far better than many other renowned airlines.

The newly-released data confirm the successful direction in which the company is moving: Austrian has repeatedly produced top placings compared to European competitor carriers in recent years.

Austrian Airlines is the most punctual long-haul airline anywhere in Europe. With a punctuality rate of 86.5% of all flights, the company is way ahead of the European average in the segment (AEA average at 70.5%). Across the route network as a whole, the Austrian Airlines Group took an excellent second place by international comparison. Here, too, Austrian is significantly above the AEA average (80.1%) with a figure of 84.4%.

A special highlight is the level of reliability on flights of the Austrian Airlines Group, with over 99.2% of all flights operated as planned. Given that the company carries out some 450 flights every day, this is a very special achievement and the envy of competitor carriers. The figures are another clear indication that passengers of Austrian, Austrian arrows and Lauda Air can depend upon arriving at their destination punctually and in great shape.
