Emirates Skywards hosts 5th Annual Golf Tournament

Skywards, the award winning frequent flyer programme of Emirates and Sri Lankan Airlines recently hosted its 5th annual golf tournament at the Montgomerie Dubai Golf Club offering members the chance to participate in the Dubai Desert Classic Pro-Am.

The Pro-Am, part of the prestigious Dubai Desert Classic, has fast gained recognition as one of the world’s most popular tournaments, putting Dubai on the map as a major golf destination.

Over 90 Skywards Gold Card members participated in the tournament.

Five top scoring members secured the prize to participate as part of the Emirates team in Dubai Desert Classic Pro-Am putting them head-to-head with some of the world's finest golfers.

The delighted top five golfers were: Robert Fletcher (39 points), Nicolai Norman (39), Mark Gathcole (37 points), Sunjay Jaitha (37 points) and Kevin Birkett (37 points).

Over the last five years the tournament has grown significantly and is now one of our highest-demand events on our calendar. We congratulate this year’s talented winners!”

Each group playing in the Skywards tournament had also the chance to play two holes with European PGA Tour Professionals Peter Gustafsson and Andy Marshall-in a special “Beat the Pro” competition.

In addition to competing in the Pro-Am Tournament, the five winners each received a trophy and Skywards Miles.

The first winner also received a day pass with Emirates Hospitality for the Dubai Desert Classic and a golf clinic with Tiger Woods. The second and third winners received passes to the Challenge Match and Lunceon at the Emirates Golf Course.

There were other prizes for the general participants which included day passes to the Dubai Desert Classic as well as passes to the Tiger Woods Clinic.
