Emirates, an official FIFA partner, continues its support of football around the world by donating 1,000 tickets for the upcoming FIFA Under-17 World Cup to the Korean Youth Football Association (KYFA). The tickets will enable future star football players to witness first-hand the matches between players from 24 different countries.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. SangJin Lee, Emirates’ Area Manager, Korea and Mr. Hui Kim, President of the KYFA, which is an organisation that supports football clubs at elementary schools nationwide.

The FIFA Under-17 World Cup will be held from August 18th to September 9th in Korea. A total of 52 matches are planned in Suwon, Ulsan, Jeju, Goyang, Cheonan, Changwon, Gwangyang and Seoul.

At the ceremony SangJin Lee said, “Emirates is renowned worldwide for its sports sponsorships, which helps the airline to connect with its customers and the communities on its international route network. Our sponsorships also provides opportunities to foster youth development and we are justifiably proud that our support of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup will go some way in fuelling the ambitions of future Korean stars. We are grateful for the cooperation of the KYFA, which is constantly paving the way for our young football players.”

Hui Kim said, “We would like to thank Emirates for helping to give our young football players the chance to witness a global football event. We hope to see our players grow up to become future star players like Hong MyungBo and Park JiSung.”
