Emirates offers luxury on wheels

The airline that currently operates 105 flights per week to India - the largest market in its international network - is gearing up to go the extra mile so that travellers flying to and from Mumbai can extend their luxurious Emirates’ experience. First and Business Class customers arriving/ departing from Mumbai’s Chatrapathi Shivaji Airport will be treated to a personal chauffeur service to whisk them to/ from any Mumbai home or business address within 50 kilometres of the airport. Not one to compromise on quality, Emirates will employ top-of-the-range luxury cars: the Mercedes-Benz C Class series.
Salem Obaidalla, Emirates’ Senior Vice President Commercial Operations, West Asia and Indian Ocean noted: “With India’s economy taking giant strides, the business environment is thriving with greater than ever trade and foreign investment. Added to this is an increasingly affluent Indian middle class seeking two-three international holidays per year. Given this environment, Emirates is witnessing escalating demand for travel to/from Mumbai – India’s business and leisure hub. I am confident that the convenience and ease of transfer offered by our latest Chauffeur-drive service will be appreciated by travellers and I expect it to be a popular, relaxing way to end or begin a journey.”
All vehicles have been equipped with a Global Positioning System (GPS) Tracker to provide real time information on the vehicle’s location. Furthermore, the vehicles will follow a pre-determined path to their destination and will not exceed the 60-kilometres /hour speed limit. For destinations that fall beyond the 50 kilometres radius of the airport, an additional charge of Rs 51 per kilometre will be charged and payment can be made directly to the chauffeur via credit card.
