SAS Ground Services and MyTravel Airways sign new deal

23rd January 2007 Print
MyTravel Airways and SAS Ground Services (SGS) have signed a four-year strategic cooperation agreement for ground handling services. Passenger services and ramp handling are both included.

SGS is now a priority supplier for MyTravel Airways at airports in Scandinavia. The agreement also provides a basis for a strategic partnership at airports outside Scandinavia.

Accordingly, SGS will begin handling MyTravel Airways at Malmö-Sturup on April 1. On May 1, the same will happen at Bergen-Flesland and Stavanger-Sola. Other airports in Scandinavia served by MyTravel Airways where SGS already conducts handling are: Stockholm-Arlanda, Gothenburg-Landvetter, Oslo-Gardermoen, Trondheim-Værnes and Copenhagen.

"We want to raise the quality of service for our passengers - particularly when they return home - and to make rapid baggage handling, for example, one of the focus areas. This extended cooperation will also generate financial benefits for us, as well as uniform handling at airports in Scandinavia. This improves our possibilities of living up to our vision of being `The best option in the air' and we look forward to positive cooperation with SGS," says Bent Erlandsen, Operational Director for MyTravel Airways.

"It is extremely satisfying that our positive cooperation with MyTravel Airways will now be deepened and expanded," says Hans-Otto Halvorsen, President of SAS Ground Services. "Jointly, it gives us even better possibilities to find ways to simplify and improve conditions for MyTravel Airways' passengers."
