Experience the beauty of Norway’s Bergen this summer

Within SAS's aggressive focus on new routes in the Nordic region, it is now the turn of Bergen on the west coast of Norway. From June 25 and throughout the summer, Scandinavian Airlines Sverige will offer up to five direct flights per week from Arlanda to Bergen.

Norway's second-largest city, Bergen, is in focus this year. It is a century since Edvard Grieg died and the celebrations in memory of the composer will be held throughout Bergen. Every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday for the entire summer, there will be a unique opportunity to enjoy Grieg's compositions, played at his home, Troldhaugen.

"Bergen is the second new route to Norway that we have launched this year," says Susanne Dahlberg, Commercial Director at Scandinavian Airlines Sverige. "Our customers want to fly direct from Arlanda to exciting destinations throughout the Nordic region and Europe. During the summer, it is expected that the Bergen route will be used by about 25,000 persons."

The Hanseatic city of Bergen is an excellent starting point for journeys of discovery in the beautiful fjords of Western Norway. From the "capital of the fjords," it is easy to make one's way to the many and varied fjords. Or remain in the city and walk around among the old wooden buildings at Bryggen, which is a World Heritage site.

The route will be served by a Boeing 737-600. Between June 25 and July 8, the route will have five departures per week. From July 9 through August 24, the route will have three departures per week.
