SAS Scandinavian Airlines has held its position as the most punctual airline amongst Europe's major carriers this summer. For June, July and August, 92.65% of all SAS flight arrived on time.

"We have worked hard with punctuality as we know how important it is for our customers to get to their destination on time," says John Dueholm, CEO, Scandinavian Airlines. "On top of our first-rate punctuality statistics, we also offer our customers a wide range of services that makes travelling with SAS more time-efficient than other airlines, such as SMS and internet check-in, printing your boarding pass before getting to the airport, and then go through Fast Track security. All in all, we aim to provide our customers with a hassle free, time efficient and smooth travel experience."

SAS' Norwegian subsidiary, regional airline Widerøe, also delivered impressive punctuality during the summer, ranking as Europe's forth most punctual airline in both June and July.

In a recent SAS survey amongst 2000 Scandinavians, 53% rated delays as the most irritating part of travelling by air.

SAS refers to punctuality statistics from Flightstats (flightstats.com), which compares all Europe's airlines, including both full service and low service carriers.
