Murder mysteries, magic and music are just some of the treats in store this Christmas at Linthwaite House Hotel. The 32 bedroomed Edwardian country house hotel is set on rolling hills overlooking Lake Windermere, which provide the perfect backdrop to a memorable country Christmas, and with crisp country walks, a treasure hunt and steamboat trip on Lake Windermere adding to the pleasure, there is also the promise of roaring log fires and comfy armchairs on your return.

The four days of festivities commence on Christmas Eve, Wednesday 24th December with a classic English afternoon tea on arrival, followed by a complimentary glass of Champagne and Christmas Carols by the Lakeland Singers in the lounge, before a four course Christmas Eve dinner and magical entertainment.

On Christmas morning there’s a full English breakfast, a visit from Santa and the chance to take a Linthwaite picnic and follow a treasure hunt around the Lakes or tour the delights of the beautiful countryside before afternoon tea and a sumptuous Christmas dinner.

After breakfast on Boxing Day take a complimentary steamboat trip on Lake Windermere with a picnic lunch, before afternoon tea and dinner in the award winning restaurant, but look out for the ‘clues in the courses’, as little murder mystery comes to Linthwaite.

Saturday is at leisure to explore the Lakeland scenery, with a fun casino gaming evening after dinner. Departures are on Sunday 28th December, after a hearty breakfast.

Prices start from £189 per person, per night for the minimum four night stay which includes all afternoon teas, dinners, room, breakfasts, picnics, entertainment, steamboat ride, service and VAT.

A three night New Year package is also available from Tuesday 30th December on a similar basis as above, with a black-tie dinner and dancing in the Mirror Room, to see in the New Year. Prices start from £209 per person per night, for the minimum three night stay, including afternoon tea, dinner on three nights, picnics, entertainment, steamboat ride, service and VAT.
