A Christmas treat to save shopping nightmares!

30th October 2008 Print
Visitors to next month's Christmas Food and Drink Fair in Lincolnshire will find a host of festive stalls selling everything from Christmas crackers and yuletide food to unusual gifts and delicious beverages.

On Saturday 29th - 30th November, the Tastes of Lincolnshire Christmas Food and Drink Fair will fill the Epic Centre at the Lincolnshire Showground. It's the perfect place for people to get started on their Christmas shopping and it couldn't be easier - with free parking and all stalls under one roof!

"This year we have more stall holders and are situated in a bigger and better event hall. After the success of last year's festive demonstrations we've got gingerbread house construction, back by popular demand, and also a brand new demonstration where visitors can learn how to make Christmas wreaths from Mick the retired head gardener of Normanby Hall so it's far more than just a food fair," said Lydia Rusling of Tastes of Lincolnshire.

"We're looking forward to filling the brand new Epic Centre with the largest Christmas event that celebrates the county's great produce. The award winning Epic Centre is an extra special setting, as the largest purpose built green events centre in the UK. Our facilities here at Lincolnshire Events Centre will lend themselves very well to the variety of activities taking place; from stands in the Exhibition Halls to the 1st floor cafe, where people will undoubtedly want to take the weight off their feet before continuing their shopping!" said Mark Farmer, Chief Executive Lincolnshire Events Centre.

Of course there will be the county's finest produce on offer, in keeping with the tradition of Tastes of Lincolnshire's other food events. Plumbread, award-winning cheeses, Lincolnshire sausages, handmade chocolates, festive flavoured ice creams, Lincoln Red Beef, pickles and preserves, melt-in-the-mouth fudge, scrumptious fishcakes, beers, organic vegetables, gourmet nuts and fruit wines are just some of the delicious things visitors can buy.

Celebrity chef Rachel Green will be joined by Aaron Patterson of Hambleton Hall in the Demonstration Kitchen and together they will sharing their mouth watering cookery tips and recipes that visitors can try at home, using produce purchased from the fair. People will also get the chance to taste the creations that Aaron and Rachel cook.

Another demonstration which is back by popular demand is Colin Deane's mulled wine tasting and creation tips. With the smells of Christmas filling the air, the event will be the perfect place to learn something new and get some festive inspiration for an extra special Christmas.

Ticket price £5 per person, £4 concessions. Under 16 yr olds go free.

Tickets can be booked in advance online, with each booking going into a free prize draw to win a luxury Christmas hamper.
