Sleeping Beauty awakens for winter in Scotland

At hand to help launch the campaign at Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery were Scottish Ballet’s principal dancers, Adam Blyde and Sophie Martin. They will be visiting Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness with the company in this year’s adaptation of Sleeping Beauty, one of the many winter white-themed attractions in Scotland this year.
VisitScotland’s Group Product Manager, Suzanne Casey said:
“Scotland is famed for incredible sights, the great outdoors, history and heritage, wildlife and fantastic shopping and city life - all of which have tremendous winter white elements associated with them and are must see and do during the winter months. Visitors can come and spot ptarmigans on the snow covered mountains, purchase some white Scottish cashmere in our stunning cities or try some fresh white Scottish scallops.
“Visitors can receive a fantastic deal on a Scottish break with three nights accommodation for £99 and two for one offers on many activities across Scotland with the VisitScotland Adventure Pass.”

Towards the end of this year’s Winter White campaign, the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns on 25 January will mark the start of Homecoming Scotland 2009, a year-round celebration of all that is great about Scotland. This will include the Burns Light lanterns, a vibrant mid-winter procession in Dumfries. For information on the events programme and ways to get involved go to homecomingscotland2009.com.
