Cheap Christmas shopping on offer in Paris

November is a quiet month when it comes to travel and as a result hotel prices have fallen. According to the trivago hotel price index, European hotel prices decreased on average by four percent, in comparison to the previous month. A night in a double room in Paris cost 134 pounds in October compared to 120 pounds in November.

The drop in prices is also noticeable in popular Italian tourist destinations, which were very expensive in October; the price for a double room in Venice decreased by 29 per cent (from 157 pounds to 111 pounds). The price of a double room in Florence fell by 25 per cent from October to November to 90 pounds per night.

Hotel prices in Barcelona (103 pounds) and Madrid (102 pounds) are also particularly reasonable. A stay in Seville (79 pounds) and Valencia (82 pounds) is even cheaper and worthwhile, since the current temperature is between 18 and 19 degrees Celsius. The cheapest city in Europe is Granada, as in previous months, where a double room costs on average 62 pounds per night.

The trivago hotel price index shows the average overnight accommodation prices for the most popular European cities on trivago. The average prices for a standard double room are calculated on the basis of 40,000 daily price inquiries for overnight hotel stay generated through the trivago hotel price comparison.
