Arrive on Christmas Eve (Wednesday 24th December 2008) and have a traditional Welsh afternoon Tea. The evening commences with a welcome cocktail and a canapé reception with carols from a local choir, setting the perfect Christmas atmosphere. Then take a seat for a four course dinner in the wonderful Vue restaurant and what a view it is – the stunning the Unesco world heritage site of Conwy Castle light up at night will definitely bring on the festive cheer. Guests will also have a choice of attending Midnight Mass (Details of midnight services at local churches will be available at reception).
Wake up bright and early on Christmas Day, with the hope of snow and start the day with a Welsh breakfast. Relax and open presents with loved ones, then tuck in to a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. Watch the Queens’s speech in the afternoon or spend time in the games room with a selection of games and cards. The lounge bar will offer Christmas cake and coffee in the late afternoon and a light buffet is served in the Vue restaurant on Christmas Evening.
Boxing Day starts with Welsh sausage, bacon, mushrooms etc, everything you need to help you get over the excesses of the day before. Once refreshed, there’s a chance to spend the day exploring the natural beauty of the area by taking a brisk walk along the estuary to Conwy or for those guests who want a pampering, take advantage of The Quay’s indulgent spa with a treatment such as Aromatherapy Associates Real Aromatherapy Experience: A luxurious full body, face and scalp massage focuses on the pressure points to stimulate the nervous system and improve energy flow, using your favourite essential oils, a blissful reminder of why you decided to come away for Christmas (booking is essential).
The fitness suite is also fully equipped with the latest life fitness machines, complete with specifically developed exercise regimes by the hotel’s expert gym instructors. For those of you who feel they need to work off extra pounds gained on Christmas day can combine work outs with the use of the swimming pool, sauna, steam room and whirlpool.
For those looking for something of a more gentle nature, the charming Victoria Seaside town of Llandudno is situated minutes from The Quay Hotel and with miles of golden sandy beaches and the beautiful Bodnant Gardens nearby.
Choose where to dine for lunch, the lounge bar for the less formal, modern eclectic food with a warm atmosphere or the Vue restaurant for a more extensive menu, but please book to avoid disappointment. Dinner will be a relaxed affair in the Vue Restaurant, accompanied by a pianist, playing a selection of contemporary music for you to enjoy your last night of fine dining with first class service.
Leave The Quay on Saturday 27th December 2008 after a hearty Welsh breakfast, and wonderful memories of your Christmas break, but you could always stay an extra night for just £62.50 per person per night on a B&B basis if you would like to experience the hotel for longer, which is more than likely!
