A Christmas card from Brussels This year the Brussels Card goes festive during the Christmas season offering extra special discounts at Brussels’s famous Winter Wonders Christmas Market.

As well as the usual discounts and benefits - admission to 26 museums in and around Brussels, free admission to all exhibitions at the BOZAR Fine Arts Museum, unrestricted use of public transport in Brussels on the MIVB and STIB networks, a free map of the city, a 25 % discount on several attractions, cultural institutions, shops, bars and restaurants, and a 33% discount to visit the Atomium -the special Christmas edition Brussels Card will contain additional benefits.

These will include a 25% discount on any "Winter Wonders" branded souvenirs, a 50% discount on an adult admission ticket to the skating rink (including skate rental), a free hot drink in the new winter wonders organic brasserie when buying another beverage, and child prices for adults on the big wheel.

Winter Wonders is one of Belgium’s largest Christmas markets with 240 chalets and a 100m ice rink reputed to have the best ice in Europe. This year’s guest of honour will be Wallonia, the southern mainly French-speaking region of Belgium.

The special edition Brussels card will cost 18 euros for 24 hours, 26 euros for 48 hours and 30 euros for the 72 hour version, with Christmas discounts valid only for the duration of the Christmas Market between 28 November 2008 and 28 December 2008.

The Brussels Card can be purchased in person at the Brussels Tourist Office representations located at Brussels Midi Station, on the Grand place and on the Rue Royale, or at the three Winter Wonders Christmas chalets on Bourse, the Marché aux Poissons or Rue au Beurre. It can also be bought online at brusselscard.be.
