Sparkly fun in the Cotswolds this Christmas

25th November 2008 Print
Don your Christmas stockings and get out for some festive fun – that's the message from the New Inn at Coln St Aldywns this year. Alongside the more traditional turkey and trimmings next to a crackling open fire, the boutique hotel is offering guests the opportunity to enjoy some more unusual seasonal merrymaking.

From learning to play polo to clay pigeon shooting, the quirky English inn has set up deals to appeal to those who want to escape the December Doldrums and January Jetlag.

And best of all, the packages are all available throughout November and December in voucher format, making a perfect gift for difficult Daddies and bothersome Brothers – or even mutinous Mummies. They include:

POLO EXPERIENCE:
Saddle up and tally ho it's off to indulge in the sport of kings! Arrive at the New Inn for supper and take some time to indulge in a few sharpeners – next day it's off to Inglesham Private Polo Club to learn from the pros. Kick back on the wooden horse as you find your stroke – by the end of the day you'll be swinging from the real deal. Then it's back to the New Inn for supper and maybe a soak in a relaxing bubble bath – full of tales of heroics on the field of course.

Prices from £200 per person, including tuition, all equipment and bed and full English breakfast.

CHRISTMAS CLAY SHOOT:
Make the time between Christmas and New Year go off with a bang – and what could be more seasonal than a clay pigeon shoot on a crisp Cotswolds morning? Luckily the 'eat what you shoot' rule doesn't apply here and the award winning New Inn at Coln is on hand with full hospitality.

Prices from £120 per person including clay shooting lesson, clays and DB&B.

LIBERATE MUMMY:
Free Mummies from Christmas this year! Ditch the marigolds and head over to the New Inn at Coln where a tempting treat awaits. From arrival to a full cream tea and crackling fire, through a festive feast on the big day, there's a sprinkling of thoughtful touches including dressing drinks in the room, stockings on Christmas Eve and plenty of R&R opportunities.

Just don't forget to let Santa know where you'll be.
