Krakow – A real Christmas cracker The Polish city has appeared in a list of Europe’s top 20 festive markets compiled by The Times. The newspaper described Krakow as “a gem of a city” with “stunning architecture” where you can do your Christmas shopping in the most gorgeous of settings.

The Rynek square hosts the market which runs until 24th December and is open for business 7 days a week. On offer are traditional foods like Polish sausages and the distinctive fried oscypek Cheese, regional crafts, winter-warming mulled wine served from giant barrels and of course, unbeatable Polish hospitality.

Acting Director of the Polish National Tourist Office, Ewa Binkin said, “The famous Christmas Market in Krakow is quite simply fantastic and brings the magic of the season into this wonderful city.”

The Polish landscape certainly does add a magic to Christmas that is not found anywhere else, making Krakow the perfect destination for a last minute Christmas shop or festive break.

• The Christmas market in Krakow is open 7 days a week and runs from 1st to 24th December
