Christmas in a tower for two

Christmas in a tower for two Looking for a quiet Christmas or New Year for two? Can’t think of an amazing present for your truelove? Too late to escape from the family festivities? It isn’t - thanks to the launch this week of what is Northumberland’s tallest, smallest and most unique self catering accommodation, and Christmas gift – The Outchester Ducket.

The couples who choose to stay in The Ducket for Christmas and New Year are guaranteed a romantic experience of a lifetime, where only the setting could be more memorable!

Imagine Christmas morning, as the winter sun rises over Budle Bay, and both of you, an early glass of champagne in your hands, high above the countryside. Such will be your view on the 25th, from the 5 storey Ducket, overlooking Northumberland’s beautiful beaches at Bamburgh, and in sight of Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island.

Soaring 65 ft, with each of its five circular rooms linked vertically by a hand-made spiral staircase, your perfect Xmas gift is a romantic tower worthy of a medieval tale. Nowhere could be better for an exchange of presents, or Christmas lunch for two, after a brisk walk across the sands.

For a unique 5 Star Christmas for two able people, in an 18th century dovecote, on a medieval site, with 21st century facilities, you will not find a better place to enjoy the holy-decked traditions of the festive season. Throughout, original features are carefully combined with features of today. Stone and timber are complemented by state of the art bathroom and kitchen facilities, Wi Fi and underfloor ground-source heating. All that need adding are the tasteful decorations and tree.

The entrance hall in the base of the tower also contains the bathroom. As you rise up the tower, the views and the comforts increase. The first floor is the bower of the tower, the double bedroom with views of open country towards the Cheviots. Rise to the second floor and a well equipped kitchen and dining area for à deux dining. Then reach the third floor sitting room, intimately furnished whilst overlooking the Cheviot Hills, Lindisfarne Castle and the coast. Finally, the library nests at the top of the tower – and makes the best views, or opportunities for a personal watercolour, or a good book!

The Ducket is available for weekly lets for the Christmas and New Year Weeks at £695 and weekly lets from £495 and short breaks from £395. Full details can be found on web site – Theducket.co.uk.
