Snow time like the present for pre-Christmas ski breaks

15th November 2007 Print
The exclusive resort of Lech in the Austrian Vorarlberg has long had a reputation for its special microclimate that makes it one of the most snow-sure resorts in the Alps.

Winter has begun especially early there this year, with huge snowfalls during the first fortnight of November which caused the resort to be cut off from the outside world for a couple of days. More of the white stuff is forecast to fall in the next few days, with the freezing level dropping to just 300m (Lech itself lies at 1,450m) and daytime temperatures peaking at around -4 degrees Celsius.

The lifts open on Saturday 1 December, when the resort hosts a number of special Season Opening events, parties and fireworks to get the winter started with a bang.

Ski Solutions is able to offer “Special Offer” tailor-made four-night (or longer) short breaks in Lech in a variety of hotels over the first three weekends of the season (1/2 Dec, 8/9 Dec and 15/16 Dec).

Nor need you worry about missing out on your Christmas shopping: Lech’s vast and glamorous Strolz department store has presents for everyone.

Availability includes:

3 Star Hotel Lech from £624 per person (including ski pass)
4 Star Hotel Monzabon from £519 per person

Prices include scheduled flights, car hire and four nights half board accommodation – plus ski pass where applicable.

Ski Solutions are also able to offer pre-season breaks at other selected resorts in Europe such as Val d’Isere, Engelberg, Davos, Verbier, Courmayeur and many more.
