Round off the year in style
Bringing in the bells is the biggest party of the year. And even though most people’s thoughts are on Christmas, Hogmanay party planners are already snapping up spots at their favourite venues to make sure the New Year is brought in with a bang.Montpeliers (Edinburgh) Ltd has almost sold out a number of their award-winning venues and tickets are being snapped up by the day for remaining spots.
Overnight stays at the group’s two boutique hotels, rick’s and Tigerlily, have been sold out since October.
Elsewhere, spaces are running out at Indigo (yard), rick’s, Opal Lounge and Montpeliers of Bruntsfield who are hosting three course luxury champagne dinners. And Edinburgh’s chicest venue Tigerlily is hosting a five-course feast.
Tigerlily’s underground nightclub Lulu is ensuring people make the most of things before New Years’ resolutions come into play with a Seven Deadly Sins party with a chocolate fountain, champagne and canapés. Opal Lounge will also be hosting a club night after the restaurant closes. And as always there is a huge party at Assembly.
Specialist Christmas Co-ordinators were hired in August to deal with the tide of people keen to pre-plan the party season.
Lucy Henderson, Marketing Manager for Montpeliers, said: “It is reassuring for people to know that the biggest party of the year is sorted out so they can enjoy the rest of their festive season.
“There is so much to think about at this time of year. We have been so popular though that if people want to celebrate the New Year in style at Montpeliers they need to think now.
“The festive period is such an exciting time and everything is happening sooner and sooner, with Christmas displays up in most of the shops already. It makes sense that for such a big party people get planning now.”
