Live podcast’s from Santa’s Arctic home

Santa has become rather tired of the materialism surrounding Christmas and is not looking forward to another year of satisfying the demands of greedy children who do not stop to think about others, including the wildlife around them.
This is not the case at Trotters World of Animals, in Bassenthwaite, where the opportunity exists for children to learn what Christmas is really all about, right from the reindeer’s mouth. They will also be taught the importance of caring for creatures in the wild.
For them to do so depends on their parents also feeling that traditional family values and the true Christmas message need to be rekindled. If that’s the case, the parents can get together with their friends to arrange for their kids to learn exactly what the Christmas spirit entails.
Groups of a minimum of 10 and maximum of 90, preferably aged between three and eight years, can enjoy an all-inclusive day at Trotters World of Animals between December 3-21 that will be a truly magical and sincere experience.
Santa will be using his podcast to talk directly to children and explain the need for them to give themselves first and a present second this festive season.
Generosity, caring and consideration will be the virtues promoted during the podcast, as Santa (or Dadabe Noely, to give him his Madagascan name), reminds the little ones, from a hot Indian Ocean beach, that some children have very different Christmases from those we enjoy.
He will also be explaining how children can help the wildlife on their doorstep and this message will be supported during the day through animal encounters and presentations, with possibilities of curriculum links for teachers.
There will be an enchanting story of the little fir tree, as well as craft making activity that will see children making recycled bird feeders filled with bird cakes.
The kids can also enjoy a traditional buffet and ride on a festively decorated tractor and trailer, as fairy-lights twinkle through the park.
They will also each take home a letter from Santa and a memento, as well as lots more understanding of what Christmas really means a greatly enhanced level of global awareness. After all, it’s not every day you see Santa in a Hawaiian shirt, sitting in a deckchair by a pool, or driving a car!
The price for the day, which starts at 10am and ends at 2pm, is £7.50 per child, within the minimum and maximum group size.
