Celebrate Christmas St Lucian style

A St Lucian Christmas
John Verity, representing the Marina Village Management said: “It’s the first Christmas for the new Discovery Hotel and Marina here in Marigot and we didn’t want to have pine cones and plastic holly. It’s going to be Christmas St Lucian style with live music, masqueraders, black cake, rum and sorrel punch.”
The wreaths have been made by palm weavers on the Labas beach and decorated by the ladies at Untainted Blossoms, the Marina Village’s local flower cabana. And instead of plastic evergreens, the columns of the Caribbean style village square will be draped with madras and poinsettias.
Marigot Marina Village prides itself on offering a variety of locally made craft items, including clothing, ceramics and jewellery as well as a great range of international designer fashions and sophisticated accessories. The courtyard café will be offering the specialities of the season as well as their regular French croissants, deli sandwiches and fabulous coffee.
Every Saturday through December, the village will come alive with arts and craft displays, live music, pan bands, choirs, dancers and a the St Lucian Christmas Masquerade. In addition, an international designer fashion show will be held on Sunday, December 16.
The opening ceremony is at The Marina Village, Marigot Bay at 5.30pm on Saturday, December 1.
