SWISS brings Alinghi home

10th July 2007 Print
Swiss International Air Lines, official airline and supplier of Alinghi, flew the victorious America’s Cup team back to Switzerland today. SWISS had transported the defending champions in the latest America’s Cup contest throughout the defence of their trophy.

On November 15, 2006, SWISS flew the team to Dubai, their training base for the 2006/07 winter; and SWISS later ferried the team to Valencia, the venue for the 32nd staging of the world’s most famous sailing regatta and SWISS’s newest destination.

Following Alinghi’s victory, SWISS was delighted to welcome the most successful sailing team in the world back aboard for their return to Switzerland and transport the most coveted sailing trophy of all, the America’s Cup, to Geneva.

And a SWISS delegation led by Harry Hohmeister, Chief Network & Distribution Officer, was on hand at Geneva Airport to meet them when they deplaned from their SWISS Airbus A321 and offer SWISS’s own congratulations on their outstanding sporting achievement.
