SWISS earns more top rankings in magazine poll

12th July 2007 Print
Swiss International Air Lines has been voted Best European Network Carrier by the readers of Germany’s Capital magazine in its 2007 Airline of the Year awards. SWISS also secured an excellent third place in the Best Intercontinental Carrier category.

“The readers of Capital seem to appreciate what we view as our own greatest assets: quality in every detail, punctuality and personal care – Swiss hospitality, in other words,” says SWISS Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer Christoph Beckmann. “And we’re constantly investing in our product to further enhance our customers’ travel experience.”

Recent actions here have included the provision of new seats on the entire Airbus A320-family fleet, which has further raised both legroom and seating comfort. The refurbishment is now almost complete. And from February 2008 onwards, all the passengers on SWISS’s regional fleet will also enjoy the inflight comfort of the top-quality Recaro seats.

In a further move, SWISS opened its new and exclusive Business Class Lounge at Geneva Airport in mid-May. New Senator and First Class Lounges will follow this autumn.

German-based Capital magazine polls its readers and online users every year on their experiences with the various airlines they fly. This year’s survey – the 21st – attracted over 1 400 respondents and covered some 30 000 flights.

The airlines are assessed in seven categories: value for money, safety & security, service, seating comfort, food & drink, punctuality and loyalty bonus programme. The detailed poll results were published in yesterday’s print edition of the magazine, and will subsequently be available on the Capital.de website.
