SWISS adopts new low fare concept

19th December 2008 Print
SWISS is adopting a new fare concept which will guarantee customers lowest ticket prices from Switzerland within Europe, that are no more than CHF 199. Certain other fares will be slightly increased at the same time in the light of general cost developments.

SWISS customers can take advantage of particularly low prices to destinations in Europe from 13 January under a new fare concept to be introduced by the carrier. Under the new concept, SWISS will guarantee a lowest all-in price (i.e. including all taxes and surcharges) of CHF 199 for all European flights from Switzerland. As a result, the lowest prices to certain destinations will be reduced by as much as 60%. The new fares will make early booking even more worthwhile.

In view of general cost developments, SWISS is also making slight upward adjustments to a number of its fares. These will affect all tickets for travel from Switzerland issued from 13 January onwards. They will not apply to any tickets issued before this date. The increases will raise prices per sector by an average of one to two per cent.

The prices of crude oil and jet fuel have eased further over the last few months. SWISS constantly monitors market developments here, and is considering a further adjustment to its present fuel surcharges.
