Flybe announce new route - Cardiff to Belfast City

Operating twice daily from May 2007, Flybe’s fares will start from just £19.99 one way including taxes and charges, bringing greater travel choice to travellers in and around Cardiff.
The announcement of the new hub consolidates Flybe’s commitment to growing regional air travel across the UK, and it’s promise to bring a high quality, low cost transport option direct to people’s doorsteps.
Belfast City airport is conveniently located close to the city centre, flying travellers direct to the heart of the city without having to travel the lengthy distance involved with flights into Belfast International airport.

The route should also provide a healthy boost to inbound tourism with business and leisure travellers from Northern Ireland keen to take advantage of a new, low cost service direct to the heart of the Welsh Capital.
The route is a part of Flybe’s 2007 summer schedule, which offers a total of 14 new domestic and European routes added to Flybe’s network nationally.
Mike Rutter, Chief Commercial Officer, Flybe comments: “The announcement of a new hub at Cardiff is another string to Flybe’s bow. Beginning operations from this key base is a major move for us as we continue to expand across the UK, bringing our low cost, high quality service to Wales for the first time.”
“With the recent announcement of the proposed acquisition of BA Connect these are exciting times for Flybe as we grow to become Europe’s largest regional carrier. Cardiff Airport has massive potential for growth and we are already looking at options for further new routes to be introduced early next year so watch this space!”
