Flybe celebrates first birthday to Manchester

12th January 2007 Print
Flybe has celebrated the first anniversary of its very popular Belfast to Manchester route with news that further expansion is on the way.

Says Andrea Hayes, Flybe General Manager, Market Development, “We launched this service exactly a year ago going head to head with two other airlines and providing three flights per day. Our entry on the route has not only expanded the overall traffic to this destination by 33% but also in turn, stimulated our rotation to five. There is no doubt that Flybe’s schedule offering the earliest outbound and latest inbound flights coupled with the convenience of George Best Belfast City Airport have contributed to the route’s success. With growth projected to continue additional frequency is expected in the near future.”

Flybe, which is the largest airline operating out of George Best Belfast City Airport, serves 16 destinations including the first direct scheduled service to the French city of Rennes.
