13th September 2007 Print
Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has reconfirmed its commitment to serving passengers travelling between Jersey and Newcastle with the announcement it is to boost its direct weekly service between the two destinations to four times a week.

To satisfy customer demand on both sectors of the route, Flybe will operate the four times weekly service all year round, effective 28th March 2008. Seats will go on sale at Flybe.com in November 2007 with fares starting from just £29.99 one way including taxes and charges.

Flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays providing greater travel choice for business and leisure passengers travelling between the two destinations.

Mike Rutter, Chief Commercial Officer Flybe, says: “We’re committed to offering a first rate, convenient regional air service, not only catering to the needs of Islanders but also offering a first rate, convenient regional air service between Newcastle and Jersey, popular for short breaks. This service has proved extremely popular and, with the addition of these three extra services, passengers are offered greater flexibility and choice when travelling to Newcastle, further strengthening key ties to the North of England.”

He continues: “This move sees us listening to our customers’ needs and responding accordingly and we’re confident we’ll see strong sales on the route when seats go on sale later in the year.”
