Flybe wins UK Business achievement award

8th October 2007 Print
Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, is celebrating another success today after winning the UK Business Achievement Award at the annual Franco-British Business Awards, hosted by French Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain (FCCGB).

The accolade was presented in recognition of Flybe’s successful acquisition and integration of British Airway’s regional service, BA Connect, which Flybe procured in March 2007.

The FCCGB is represented by over 1300 senior French and British executives and facilitates the development of its member’s business activities. The FCCGB also assists UK companies to export and set up subsidiaries in France.

As the largest provider of routes from the United Kingdom to France, Flybe operates more than a hundred weekly departures to the different French regions, servicing airports such as Nice, Avignon, Limoges, Brest and Paris Charles de Gaulle and offering both business and leisure travellers a prompt and cost effective service. With 820,000 passengers carried to and from France to date this year Flybe has bought an estimated €80 million to the regional French economy.

Mike Rutter, Chief Commercial Officer said: "We’re absolutely thrilled to be receiving such a prestigious award. To be honoured by the FCCGB makes this even more special. Flybe’s flights to and from France are integral to its operations and we are committed to continuing that high level of service.

"This award is a testament to the hard work of all our staff at Flybe. Throughout the process they showed outstanding commitment beyond the call of duty to help make the acquisition of BA Connect such a success."
