19th August 2008 Print
Flybe has announced that it has been nominated for a British Travel Award in the category of ‘Best Low Cost/No Frills Airline’. The British Travel Awards is the largest awards programme in the UK created to reward the best companies in travel. Recognised by consumers and travel professionals throughout the UK, the British Travel Awards are widely referred to as the ‘Oscars’ of the travel industry.

With categories spanning over sixty types of holiday experiences, transport, destination, cruise, customer service, holiday extras and accommodation, the awards are a benchmark for excellence when it comes to finding the best in the business. To aid their bid for the award, Flybe has added a ‘Vote To Win’ button on their website www.flybe.com for those who would like to show their support.

Mike Rutter, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer comments: “We are thrilled to have been selected for the ‘Best Low Cost/No Frills Airline’ award and this nomination is a reflection of the hard work that everybody at Flybe puts in each and every day.

“With the acquisition of BA Connect in 2007, spearheading an industry wide eco-labelling scheme, having one of the youngest and most environmentally sensitive fleets in the world and our groundbreaking franchise deal with Loganair earlier this year, Flybe continues to innovate and develop as a recognised industry leader.”
