Flybe - Officially the coolest of the cool
It’s official! It appears that Flybe now ticks even more boxes than any other carrier in offering yet another dimension to its recognised position as Europe’s largest and most successful regional airline – this time with leading members of its management team and key spokesmen proudly sporting the ‘coolest’ regional accents in Britain. The results of a CoolBrands survey poll on regional accents, just released and given high profile by Sky News, clearly indicates that topping the poll with the coolest regional accent is Chairman and CEO, Jim French, whose impressive speaking style is enhanced by a much-admired gently lilting Scottish accent. In second place is the trusted Geordie tone of Mike Rutter, Chief Commercial Officer whose distinctive North Eastern accent’s popularity has emerged as being the ‘coolest twang in England’. And, in joint fourth place, often overlooked and considered less cool by polls in the past, is London Cockney, the accent of choice of Flybe’s Head of PR and Public Affairs, Niall Duffy.
Mr Rutter comments: “I always knew I was part of a winning regional team but never imagined we’d have such undisputed proof of being one of the coolest management teams in UK aviation!”
