On Flybe's wing

21st October 2008 Print
Flybe was delighted that Alyth McCormack, Scotland’s leading folk singer, was able take time out to help the airline with its plans around the launch of Flybe Connections that, effective October 26th, will offer Highlands & Islands travellers connections from six local airports to George Best Belfast City Airport.

Alyth, who hails from the Isle of Lewis, is currently starring in the hit musical ‘On Eagle’s Wing’ with co-star Peter Corry, wowing local Belfast theatre-goers with their unique talent,

Travellers flying from airports such as Kirkwall, Sumburgh, Barra, Stornoway and Wick will be able to fly to the popular Northern Island city to see such events for themselves in future as a result of the agreement between Flybe and new franchise partner Loganair. The five new routes complement Loganair’s first Flybe operated flight from Dundee to George Best Belfast City Airport that started in May.

Mike Rutter, Flybe’s Chief Commercial office comments: “What a perfect way to celebrate the synergy of Flybe Connections with Alyth and Peter both brilliantly talented representatives of their two regions.

“Flybe’s agreement with franchise partner Loganair is the first deal of its kind ever for a UK low cost carrier that also creates an exciting synergy between two of Scotland’s best known airlines. We already operate popular direct services from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Inverness to George Best Belfast City Airport and the effective addition of six new routes will give our Scottish passengers an even greater choice of connections, be it for business or leisure.”
