Flybe shows support for local economy
Flybe has demonstrated its commitment to contributing to successful South West businesses by supporting Cornish-based Castang Wine Shippers in a recent promotion for their local merchandisers. The company, in partnership with its wine suppliers from the winelands region of Bergerac, held a competition with a prize of a three-day mini-break to the Dordogne to promote the French wine it has been importing from this region for the past 30 years.
The winners, Mr and Mrs Templar of Riverside Hotel, Boscastle, this week jetted off to Bergerac from Exeter on board Flybe’s specially branded Q400 aircraft, Vineyards of Bergerac for their mini-break.
Mike Rutter, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer said: “Flybe has proved that, with the right business model, it’s possible not only to survive but also to thrive and during this time when economic challenges remain very real, it’s even more critical that businesses support one another. As the UKs number one carrier to regional France, we will always consider supporting local businesses such as Castall Wines that, with its close commercial ties to Bergerac, plays a key role in the economic growth of the South West.”
Flybe operates 41 popular routes from the UK to 13 airports in France, including those between Exeter and Bergerac on Tuesdays and Fridays throughout the winter season with fares from £39.99 one way including taxes and airport charge. For its commitment to supporting regional businesses on both sides of the Channel, Flybe was last year honoured to have received the ‘Achievement of the Year’ award from the French Chamber of Commerce.
