VLM Airlines introduces new Luxembourg schedule
VLM Airlines introduces new schedule for the Luxembourg – London City route and further strengthens its Luxembourg – Manchester connection. VLM Airlines has been operating the route Luxembourg – London City since 1998, and offers more flights at London City airport than any other airline.
In 2003, the carrier started flying this route independently and since then the passenger figures have gone from strength to strength.
Johan Vanneste, Managing Director VLM Airlines comments: “For the first six months of 2007, VLM Airlines carried 12% more passengers on this route, compared to the same period in 2006.” He ads: “forward sales are 24% higher compared to last year, and this is the reason why we are increasing the number of available seats on this route by 17%.”
With the new flight and improved schedule, VLM Airlines wants to strengthen its position in both Luxembourg as London City. The new flight (VG309) will operate from Monday to Thursday and will depart in Luxembourg at 10h40, and arrive in London City at 11h10. The early morning flight (VG301) will depart 10 minutes later, giving VLM passengers the chance to enjoy 10 minutes more sleep before flying off to London.
With 3.352 passengers having flown to Manchester from Luxembourg via London City with VLM Airlines in the first six months of this year, the carrier has decided to increase the number of flights from Luxembourg to Manchester via London City from 12 flights to 20 flights per week. Business passengers will now also be able to have a full day’s work in Manchester and return the same day, allowing them to be home in the evening and save on hotel expenditures.
Johan Vanneste says: “We are extremely proud of the results we have attained in Luxembourg so far, and look forward to offering the same impeccable service to our customers in the years to come.”
VLM Airlines offers daily flights to nine destinations within Western Europe from London City Airport. From Luxembourg, passengers can also make good connections to Isle of Man and Jersey.
